Aim:

To design a system for wireless PC to PC communication over Infra Red (IR) medium

 

Working Principle:

Here we are designing a system for wireless communication for PC over IR medium. The system can be used in communication, data logging, security etc . . .

Block diagram Explanation:

Here we are designing a system for wireless communication for PC over IR medium. To get higher range of communication we are using TSOP 1738 IR receiver (used in TV sets) which has a band pass filter of 38 KHz. Due to the modulation frequency of 38 KHz the range is extended up to 7-8 meters. For this we are designing a transmitter which will send the data at a modulation of 38 KHz. For this we are designing a 555 based circuit.

  • Send the data from PC 1 at 1200 Baud Rate from Hyper terminal.
  • Is serial interrupt detected on µC1? Yes, then
  • Display the frame on LCD
  • Transmit the received frame on IR at 38 KHz.
  • Is serial interrupt detected on µC 2? Yes, then
  • Display the frame on LCD
  • Transmit the received frame to PC 2 at 1200 baud rate
  • Display the frame on Hyper Terminal of PC 2

 

Hardware Features:

  • µC : 89s52 /PIC
  • LCD: 16*2 , 100 ma , Alphanumeric Display
  • Power Supply: 5V, 500ma current.

 

Software Features:

µC programming: C

MPLAB IDE compiler, PIC Flash Programmer

PC: Hyper terminal Software.
