Gesture Based Device Control

Gesture Based Device Control

Project Definition:

This project aims in implementing real time gesture recognition. The primary goal of the project is to create a system that can identify human generated gestures and use this information for device control.

  • Provide the physically challenged users a better way to interact.
  • User can give input with just move the sensor.
  • Helpful for handicap people.
  • Actually finds out the directional gesture vector.

The Sensor MMA 7260 is basically an accelerometer which measures the acceleration in various directions. All the readings from the accelerometer are taken and the direction of motion is calculated.

This is transmitted to the microcontroller. The microcontroller uses that data to Control Devices.  Accelerometer technology can also be very useful in certain industries where touch screen deployment is not possible.
