A MATLAB framework: Real time monitoring and analysis system for chemical sensor films of Lanthanum Oxide (La2O3) and Cerium Oxide (CeO2)


The main objective of a MATLAB framework based research proposal is that to design and develop an autonomous system for characterization of chemical sensor films of lanthanum oxide and cerium oxide. This kind of system is very beneficial to perform the electrical characterizations as well as desired parameter of the chemical sensor films those are under research since decades. It can be a modern approach instead of manually observing and performing experiments and results. It assists to predict the nature of the La2O3 and CeO2 films.

MATLAB = MATrix LABoratory
It is a Numerical Computing environment and Fourth Generation Programming Language developed by “MathWorks” corpotration.

It allows matrix manipulations, plotting of functions and data, implementation of algorithms, creation of user interfaces and interfacing with programs written in other languages, including  Fortran , C, C++ and Java.

MATLAB is widely used in Academic and Research Institutions as well as Industrial Enterprises.

Lanthanum is a chemical element (La)

It is used in electronic Vacuum tubes, electron microscope and Hall effect thrusters.
It is also used in flints of cigarette lighters.

Cerium is a chemical element (Ce)

It is a soft, ductile, silvery white metal.
It was dicover by Jons Jakob Berzellius and Wilhelm Hisinger (1803) in Sweden.
The first use of cerium was in gas mantles.
It is used as policing glasses and optical glasses.

In thin/thick films research laboratories, experimental studies are carried out by the conventional methods. These methods are laborious which involve experimental setup, direct observations, calculations, plotting of graphs, paper works, manual result analysis etc that causes many problems like human error, instrumental error, calculation mistakes, and result related issues.

Our proposed research work will definitely provides the right path to overcome these minor and major problems that produce unpredictable results.
